In our eyes the roads
are endless.
Two are crossroads of
the shadow.
Death always emerging
from those secret fields.
A woman working a garden:
teardrops like flowers
she breaks.
Horizonless pupils.
Virgin forests
we're lost in.
Castle of no return
that you reach
from the road that starts in the iris.
Oh boy without love, may God
set you free from red ivy.
And you, Elenita,
who sit there
embroidering neckties,
keep clear of that traveler.

After Making Love

No one should ask the other,
"What were you thinking?"

No one, that is,
who doesn't want to hear about the past

and its inhabitants,
or the strange loneliness of the present

filled, even as it may be, with pleasure,
or those snapshots

of the future, different heads
on different bodies.

Some people actually desire honesty.
They must never have broken

into their own solitary houses
after having misplaced the key,

never seen with an intruder's eyes
what is theirs.

Ring Out the Republicans!

(This event is organized by Christian Herold ... forwarded by Teri Senft)

AN INVITATION

Please join us Saturday, August 28, for our Observance, ringing the entire circumference of the World Trade Center site. Join 3,000+ others in ringing bells for victims of violence around the world, including 9/11. RingOut will give you a free bell or bring your own! Bring your friends!
We will ring a score, from 5-7:45 PM, by pioneer American composer Pauline Oliveros, Ringing for Healing: For All Victims of Violence All Over the World. "I think it is so very important to have love and healing as the motivating energy of the RingOut," says Oliveros. "Anger and revenge are the tools of the current administration."
Specific directions and Oliveros' score are given on RingOut's website at www.RingOut.org/Observance. You'll find directions there on where to arrive, how to play the  score, and information about Oliveros.
The new grassroots organization of 35 committee members across the U.S. was founded  to  ring out the old, ring in the new; ring out the false, ring in the true in our national leadership. The group also distributes liberty bells in NYC during the election season, and promotes a daily pot and pan banging protest at 7:30 PM every night of the GOP convention from August 30 to September 2.
We invite you to organize similar events nationwide during the convention and leading up to the election! Ask us to post your event on our site.

BE A BELLWETHER

You can join RingOut by being a Bellwether (guide) on the day of the Observance. Depending on your preference, you can distribute bells & Oliverosa's score, answer questions, direct participants to the where they should stand, and help ring the score. For the latter, we'll give you a large handbell to ring. The score is simple and does not require musical training or rehearsal. We will need you to come to come to a meeting place near the World Trade Center site in the early afternoon of Saturday, August 28 to learn what to do.

One-two-many is also my counting system; note the interest in economics and not accountancy. Language and exchange, oh intercourses favored! The first subscribed issue cannot come soon enough. Happy birthday to me.
