Hi Rachel:
Sorry for the delay in following up on our conversation. Here are some area economic development people that I recommend you make time to interview. They can give you a good sense of the array of approaches to economic and community development.
1. Russ Den ver, CEO of Affiliated Chambers of Greater Springfield [email]. You might let Russ know that I recommended you speak to him.
2. Chris Si kes of the Western Massachusetts Enterprise Fund in Greenfield. Chris is a great person and extremely knowledgeable. He is a friend of mine, you should let him know I recommended that you contact him [email].
3. Deb Ki ng, Scibelli Enterprise Center at STTC. Deb is great. Her email is [email].
4. John Wa ite, Franklin County CDC. John is an old family friend and runs a very progress community development corporation [email] in Greenfield. You might want to coordinate your meetings with John and Chris.
5. Aimee Mun nings, Western New England College Center for Law and Entrepreneurship at the Scibelli Center at STTC. [email]. Another great friend.
6. Jeff Hay den, Econ Dev. Director, City of Holyoke [email]. Jeff doesn’t know me well. But he is one of the most progressive city econ dev directors I have met.
These people will give you an outstanding sense of the field and are excellent contacts when you get ready to look for a job.
Best of luck!
